When someone compliments your work, say thank-you and be sincere.
Positive feedback feels good! So it should be a natural reaction for you to want to genuinely appreciate a person who found value in your work.
Do not mistake an expression of appreciation for your passion as a necessary formality. Unless you are in corporate, it isn’t. People don’t have to say anything. Thus, if you make a habit of acknowledging others’ appreciation with a matter of fact response (as though the feedback is your right) their offering of appreciation can quickly turn into disdain. An honest “thanks” eliminates that, and encourages more of such feedback.
When someone tweets you a compliment on a well written post, say thank you. When someone sends an email to say how much they like your music/video – a sincere thank you is in order, (not an auto generated one). When you receive a well thought out response to anything you injected yourself into – take the time to say thanks. No one owes you anything, so when you get something as valuable as feedback, cherish it, appreciate it and respond accordingly.
A good, soulful, “thank you” reminds people you are human and helps you realize we are all in this together. Not to mention, your sincerity makes people want to share with others how cool you and your work is.
Thank-you’s feel good so give them out where they are due.

sometimes it’s the simple things that make allllll the difference
A-f*cking-greed. At this point in the game it takes a good amount of passion to continuously pump out solid material. I believe reader(s )recognize this undeniable fact. So, when a heartfelt ‘thank you’ is directed towards the writer, it often speaks of an even greater appreciation on behalf of the reader(s).
The new layout is boss. It answers all the ‘test’ email notifications I’d received.
