About Me

Amber Cabral is a Writer and Organizational Development professional raised in the highly criticized, resilient and soulful City of Detroit. Her passion for the written word began early: Amber was reading childrens books alone at 4 years old, reading novels by age 8 and penning her own tales by the time she reached age 12. Having developed a knack for crafting compelling sentences and encountering a shortage of cash in college, she began writing and editing papers for her collegiate peers to help pay for her own undergraduate books and courses.

Carless, but committed to achieving higher education, this Motor City resident commuted by bus to Wayne State University each morning and to work each evening; completing homework on the two hour ride each way.  Amber went on to attain a Masters from Siena Heights University, a mere two years after completing her  Bachelors; acquiring both degrees while employed full time.  Cabral, much like the city she comes from, is one light bearing talent who grins in the face of adversity and commits to getting things done.

In 2002, Amber Cabral birthed her first blog site, offering her readers an unforgiving perspective on popular culture and working class life.  Many years and a web address change later, Cabral’s writing still exudes a passion so intimate, she steps beyond letting the reader into her world; she practically puts them into her pumps. Her delicately constructed writings push one to tremble at their vicarious insecurities, while they eagerly accompany her on the journey to overcoming them. Hers is a story of constant improvement and personal development.  Cabral’s understanding of social issues and the human condition surfaces in her essays about the quest for happiness & success, her hometown, Detroit and her experiences with love or lack thereof.

Professionally, Amber aspires to help create work environments where employees are eager to contribute and are satisfied in the workplace.  She believes organizations obtain the most productivity from employees that are engaged and are encouraged to grow and she is committed to providing organizations with tools to produce positive strategic change in workplace culture.   During her career, Cabral has served as a lead for corporate Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, developed work processes and created people centered business solutions to improve operational culture and effectiveness.

Amber Cabral currently resides in Atlanta, GA and is a Talent Development Manager in the retail industry.  She is also working on a book about love that provides a look at the topic from various perspectives, from intimacy to spirituality, presenting both the lighthearted and dark emotions experienced in the quest for love’s company.
